Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability


The Alliance Defense Fund has been a member in good standing of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) since 1995, the first year ADF became eligible for membership.

ECFA is an accreditation agency dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship. ECFA’s Standards of Responsible Stewardship focus on board governance, financial transparency, integrity in fund-raising, and proper use of charity resources.

Founded in 1979, it comprises more than 1,100 charitable, religious, missionary, social, and educational tax-exempt, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations.
